Terms of Service

Last updated June 1, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MoolKey — our websites, web app, installable PWA, browser extension, and the hosted backend (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you’re using MoolKey on behalf of an organization, you agree on its behalf.

The Service

MoolKey deterministically derives passwords and PINs on your device from inputs you provide. It does not store the secrets it generates. The hosted plans add a managed backend, an operator console, and an audit trail for teams.

Your account and your master key

You’re responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Most importantly:

  • Your master key never leaves your device, and we cannot recover it. There is no reset link and no backdoor — that’s the point. If you forget your master key, the passwords derived from it cannot be regenerated. Choose a strong, memorable key and safeguard it.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
  • You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

Acceptable use

Your use of the Service is subject to ourAcceptable Use Policy. Don’t use MoolKey to break the law, attack our systems, or harm others.

Plans, billing, and refunds

  • The Free Forever plan costs nothing and does not expire. Paid plans are billed per seat, monthly or annually.
  • Fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • You can add or remove seats at any time; changes are prorated on your next invoice.
  • You can cancel anytime. Because MoolKey recreates generated credentials instead of storing a vault, there is no password list to migrate when you leave.

Your private phrase

Your private phrase never reaches us, so we cannot recover it, reset it, or reproduce any password derived from it. Keeping it safe and remembering it is your responsibility, and losing it means losing access to the passwords it produced.

Intellectual property

The MoolKey name, logo, and the hosted Service are owned by us and protected by applicable law. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our trademarks.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular, because we never hold your master key, we cannot and do not warrant that lost master keys or the credentials derived from them can be recovered.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MoolKey and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, secrets, or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or to comply with the law. On termination, your right to use the hosted Service ends.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll revise the “last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MoolKey is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
